Hi I'm Josh

I love my savior and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am currently married to the love of my life! The more I get to know Her the more I can't imagine life without Her. I know that our loving Heavenly Father has provided a way that our wonderful relationships that we have in this life can continue once we leave this life. I will forever be grateful for the joy that this knowledge brings to me. I served a two year mission for my church in Colombia where I came to love the people and Christ's Gospel. Currently, I am a financial advisor and find joy in helping and serving others. I also enjoy running triathlons with my younger brother (who will soon be on a mission of his own). Currently, my wonderful wife and I have been training for our first half marathon together. We always like to challenge ourselves to be the best we can be in all aspects of our lives. I have found the greatest joy in my life through sharing the gospel of Christ, giving to others and spending time with those who are close to me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read and studied the Book of Mormon and know it to be true for myself. The bible teaches us to believe in god and ask him when we are in need of an answer and he will give it to us if we ask in faith (James 1:5). Growing up in an LDS (Mormon) family each of us has had the opportunity to learn about the gospel and pray about its truth on our own. I know that God lives and cares about each one of us individually. He sent us here with a plan to be able to learn, progress, gain a body and one day return to live with him again. I think of it like parents taking their child to school for the first day. When they drop them off they can't wait for them to get home to hear about what they have learned and to see them again. The same is true with our father in heaven. He has sent us here to learn and believe in Christ that through him and his gospel we can one day find our way back in his presence. God has restored the fullness of his gospel on the earth today through his prophet Joseph Smith and we do have prophets and apostles on the earth today who receive revelation from God just as in times of old. For this I will be forever grateful.

How I live my faith

Going to church each sunday and feeling the peace that it brings recharges me for the next week. The sacrament is taken each week and is a great opportunity to reflect on my past week and how I will improve in the following. It is also a great opportunity to show God how much I love him by dedicating one day a week to him. It might seem odd to some when I say that everything done in our church is done out of service, however, I have found that the greatest joy in my life has come through selfless service. The lord has said in Matthew 25:40 "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." There are so many opportunities to serve each week! Currently, I help plan activities once a week where we often do service, learn about the gospel, play games and spend time with friends.
