Hi I'm Marcy

I grew up in upstate New York. I have eight children and nineteen grandchildren. I recently went back to college.

About Me

I love to sing, especially with my seven sisters, travel, read and bake cookies and breads. I enjoy walking, gardening, and playing with my grandchildren. When my sixth child was preparing to graduate from college and get married, I decided to return to school (two classes at a time) and graduate from college myself. Maybe I will make it before my 16 year old! I lost my mother to cancer when I was a young mother, and my youngest sister was only 8 years old. A few years later we lost our stepmother to cancer too. Later a sweet niece. We are always mindful of those who have passed on.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned when I was about 6 years old that God answered my prayers. I have come to understand that each individual born into this world is a beloved son or daughter of God, our Heavenly Father. We each have something to give and share. It is part of God's plan that we come to earth to learn and grow. He puts us into families so that we can develop the part of our character that teaches love and sacrifice for others. We also make mistakes and because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can each repent and be made pure through His redemption and Love.

How I live my faith

I volunteer at the local schools, give blood regularly and generally try to "love my neighbor". I teach an early morning scripture study class for teens at church - 6 am, Monday through Friday. I love them! There is always as much for me to learn from them, as there is for me to teach them.
