Hi I'm Caitlin

I grew up in San Diego. I go to BYU. I love to bake. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Caitlin and I am a student at Brigham Young University. I am majoring in Accounting because I know this major will allow me to have a career and be a mother. Baking is my passion and I plan to open a bakery someday. Because I grew up in San Diego, California, I love to swim and go to the beach. I run a camp at my house every summer for children ages 3 to 9. I had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor and share my testimony with hundreds of youth. Most of all, I love to laugh with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. Both my parents are members and raised my siblings and I in the church. Growing up, I always thought that the things I did as a Mormon and the beliefs I held were like everyone else's beliefs. In middle school and going into high school, it occurred to me how truly different Mormons and their beliefs are. At that point, I realized that I needed to define for myself what I really believed. I started reading my scriptures daily and praying daily to find out for myself if what I had been taught my whole life was true. I received small but firm answers building upon each other confirming my faith that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Also, I am a Mormon because I know that I can receive personal revelation from my Heavenly Father when I pray. I know that God answers prayers and is more willing than we can imagine to give us those answers when we put in the effort to receive them. Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and I know that because I have found no greater joy in my life than through being a member of and living the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Recently, my motto is to "be happy." It sounds simple and maybe a little cliche, but it has made such a difference in my life. When bad or sad things happen, I am able to look at all that I am blessed with. Being happy and excited about life allows me to share this joy with others. Ways I am able to find joy are through doing simple acts of service, reading my scriptures, praying, and trying to do what Heavenly Father would have me do. I also try to spend time with the people I am closest with. Being anxiously engaged in another person's life through spending time with them and truly knowing them allows me to help them when they are struggling and helps me to be more Christ like.
