Hi I'm Cheryl M. Nelson

I am a Mormon. I have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. I love the outdoors, gardening, hiking, x-country skiing etc.

About Me

I love to learn and try new things. I love the mountains. In the winter I x-country ski. In the summer I hike. I also love to see things grow. I mostly vegetable garden. I plant several varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and melons each year. For me gardening starts in January as I review my last year's notes and make plans for the upcoming growing season. I also love music. I have taught piano lessons for many years. My family, friends and faith are my deepest loves.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing in this world that brings me greater joy than the truths taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Recently my husband passed away of a brain tumor. Knowing that our love and our marriage union can endure through all time and eternity brings incredible solace and comfort. The knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ and His atonement blesses me every day of my life and helps me to be a better person. I know that I will see God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ one day and I hope to be called their friend. I also know that one day I will be reunited with my husband again.

How I live my faith

I have been a Mormon all my life. I grew up in a home filled with hard work and love. As I child, I read scriptures with my family, prayed with my family, attended church and enjoyed many fun family activities. When I became a mother myself, I patterned my home after the home I was raised in. My mother and father were always helping those around them. I too strive every day to help someone through a kind word, or a thoughtful gesture. I have had many opportunities to be blessed and bless my neighbors, ward members and people around me. I find great joy in helping and being apart of people's lives.
