Hi I'm Katy Cozzens

I am currently serving in the California Riverside Mission. I love serving the people here! I love making new friends! Go Aggies!

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Riverside, California! I love serving the people here as well as helping our Heavenly Father share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It gives me joy when I need it most. I know that Heavenly Father is there for us at all times, all we need to do is reach out to him. He has prepared a way for us to come back to him after this life. We must follow the path to eternal life. I have a strong testimony in prayer. I know that if we ask him with a true heart and in true faith, he will answer our prayers. I love talking to Heavenly Father. When I do, I can feel his love surround me. I am so grateful for His son, and how he gave his life for me and for all of God's children. I am so grateful for the atonement, that when I mess up in life and make stupid mistakes, I am able to go through the repentance process and be forgiven. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us all so much, and I am willing to do anything to live with them forever.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the linger-longer committee. I participate in preparing food for the ward after our church meetings.

What is being a Mormon like?

Katy Cozzens
Being a part of this church is just so amazing to me. I have the blessing of being a baptized member; having the Holy Ghost is one of the best blessings to have as being a member. It helps guide my life to make the right decisions and it also comforts me. I am just surrounded by people that have the same beliefs and when I stand alone on this earth, I know that I have Christ with me always. He will always be there for me to support me. I love having the surety that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and that as long as I make the right decisions and follow the path, I will have eternal life with my family and with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. There is so much guidance in our church, if I'm ever lost there is always something that I can turn to. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Katy Cozzens
Not all members are required to serve. The men in our church who are worthy and able are to go and serve. They are specifically asked to serve. The women however, may choose to serve a mission if they have a desire to serve God, but we are not required to go. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Katy Cozzens
Heavenly Father created us. We are created in his image and he doesn't want us harming our bodies especially since he created us. There are things on this earth that can minimally to severely harm our bodies (tattoos, drugs, alcohol). We need to respect our bodies. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Katy Cozzens
The temple is the house of the Lord, it is his home. In every home, there are expectations and rules and if we don't abide by the rules we are not welcome. The Lord asks us to be worthy to enter his house along with a few other requirements and some members don't live worthily to enter his house. If they don't live the way God is expected us to live in order to enter the Temple, then we can't go inside. In the temples, we do work for the dead that didn't have the chance to join the church, and participate in the earthly experiences of going through the temple. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Katy Cozzens
If we do all that we can to live worthily on this earth, we can live forever with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families. Eternal life is promised to us if we follow the teachings of the prophets, keep the commandments, and do all that we have been asked to stay in line with what the Lord has asked of us.
