Hi I'm Lynette

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City. I come from Mormon Pioneer ancestors, but please don't hold that against me.

About Me

I graduated from Brigham Young University. We raised 9 children in Utah Valley. When our youngest child was in school, I went back to school and studied music so I could better fulfill my callings in church music. I learned to play the piano well enough to play the hymns in our hymn book. I also started doing oil paintings. Something that I had put away while having children. My favorite thing to paint is scenery. I especially love gardens. I also enjoy growing gardens. I always have a vegetable garden and fruit trees. I bottle my own fruits and some vegetables. I love my flower gardens and love having water features in them.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by a member mother and a non member father, I had to find out for myself if it was really true. It didn't come all at once. Many experiences have helped my testimony grow. I read the Book of Mormon in 9th grade for my Seminary class. I have studied all of the scriptures and grown in knowledge and testimony. Learning about the gospel the way that Christ taught it has been the thing that has made me really know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's restored church on the earth. No other church has all of the truths that Christ's early church taught. I love reading the scriptures. The Book of Mormon is true. You can't really read it and not know that it is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in many different ways. I have taught classes for children and adults. I have been a choir director, children's music director, ward music director and a pianist for singing hymns. I love serving in the church.
