Hi I'm Colin McAfee

I love to be outdoors. I hike, bike, climb, and unicycle. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was on Explore Post, Search and Rescue for Utah County before I left on my Mission to Jackson Mississippi. I plan on coming back and joining Search and Rescue again. I also plan on going to school to be a paramedic.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes me happy and I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is The true Chuch. I grew up in the faith but I did not fully believe in it until I was age 15-17 when through many life experiences I gained my own testimony. And my testimony has further been strengthened on my mission. Being a Mormon blesses me and my family. It also helps me stay on a great path and avoid anything harmful to my body or spirit.

How I live my faith

Im currently on a mission serving in Jackson Mississippi. When I was growing up I did everything except being a normal kid. At the age of three I was able to use chop saws and drills (with my neighbors help) and I helped my neighbor build his fence. I bought my first lawnmower at age eight because I did not like my parent’s mower. And I used that mower to start a lawn care business. As I ran my business I learned how to work and communicate with people Witch l helps me on my mission. I attribute much of my success with my lawn care company to the Lord; because as I lived the gospel I did better but when I faltered my business would also. I relied on the Lord to help me chose witch employees to higher and many other aspects of my life.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Colin McAfee
Paul says in the bible "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?" (1 Corinthians 15:29) With this being said it shows us that in biblical time they were preforming proxy baptisms. In other scriptures, like John 3:5, we know that we must be baptized to be saved. So in order for us all to have a way to be saved we perform proxy baptisms for those who have already passed away to give them the chance to accept Jesus Christ fully and to be saved.
