Hi I'm Makenzi Morgan

Montana raised. Utah living. Follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

About Me

They say home is where the heart is, and my heart lies in rural Montana. I go to school at Utah State (GO AGGIES!), but will be taking a break from that to serve as a full-time missionary in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission. Lover of bears, blue slushies, and football.

Why I am a Mormon

When I turned 18, I left home for the very first time to pursue higher education. I was no longer forced to do things I didn't want to, and I didn't have to answer to anyone but myself. I decided, on my own, that I know this church is true and it is absolutely the central reason for my happiness--Christ is, in fact, the reason for my happiness. I am a Mormon because church makes me happy. And isn't that what life is all about?

How I live my faith

I am one of very few Mormon people in my community, and I live my faith each day by being an example to those around me. I love to talk about church. Each Sunday, I teach a class for high school-aged kids. Sometimes they're hard to teach, but I love them so much!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Makenzi Morgan
The short answer to this question is "no". But I will go into detail. Many members of the LDS church don't go on missions. It is hard work to be a missionary and not everyone feels that they should go. An LDS mission is a completely voluntary decision to serve the Lord and His children while putting life on hold for a while. Show more Show less
