Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in in Utah. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to sing. When I sing, I feel that I can connect with other people in ways that I can't any other way. Singing also gives me a chance to reflect on life's principles, which is important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had the truth shown to me. When I was young, I followed the counsel of the Book of Mormon prophet, Moroni who said, ". . .ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." (Moroni 10:4) The Holy Ghost bore witness to me that these things are true. Even after this great experience, I have had trials in my life, but it strengthens me to know that these things are true: God is our literal spirit father, and we are his children, and through the Atonement of Christ, we will be able to fulfill our potential and live with our Heavenly Father. I cannot deny these things that I know. They are true.

How I live my faith

In John 13:34, Jesus said, "As I have loved you . . . love one another." This has been a guiding principle in my life. Christ has given me many blessings and opportunities for which I am unable to repay him, and he doesn't expect me to repay him. Instead, he wants me, as well as all of those he has aided, to love our neighbors (Mark 12:31). I help others in little ways: babysitting for a family member, organizing the music for one of the church services, holding the door open. However, I know that "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." (Alma 37:6)

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Nathan
We believe that all men are saved by grace. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, we can be resurrected after we die (Alma 40:3, 23). Grace can help us to be strengthened and overcome difficulties. Grace also helps us to repent of our sins and be forgiven, as long as we are faithful to him (2 Nephi 25:23). Through repentance, we can be brought to live with God. The Book of Mormon prophet, Lehi, said, "There is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through. . . [the] grace of the Holy Messiah" (2 Nephi 2:8) Show more Show less
