Hi I'm Shane

I am a chemist from Utah and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Husband and father who travels frequently. I love helping solve problems and create better solutions. I love to play golf and ski. I really enjoying watching and helping my children succeed.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ lives and atoned for everyone. He has asked each of us to follow him and try to be like him. I am a mormon because I have found that the church teaches this as it 's fundamental core doctrine. The principles and ordinaces taught by the gospel are those of Jesus Chist. The most important Unit in the church is the family and that is where I find the most joy and happiness in my life. Everything just makes sense and pants a very clear picture to me, The key factor to this though is that I discovered this not by some random act of nature or by forming the same opinion of those who influenced me. I actually asked God himself through prayer to let me know that the teachings and lifestyle I was experiencing are true, and I received my answer for myself through a revelatory experience with the Holy spirit. Once I had that experience I knew that I was going to be mormon for ever and that I needed to do alI I can my entire life to follow the teachings of Jesus and try to be like him.

How I live my faith

I help quardinate activities between the members of my church and the full time missionaries. It is an awesome opprtunity that allows me to be present when spirtuality is at its highest. I also have been assigned, with my son, to watch over 4 families in my church. It is awesome to be able to see them at least once a month and share a message of faith with them. That having been said I also get that same visit once a month from a gentleman who has been assigned to me and my family. He adds so much to our families spirituality and strength that words can't express my appreciation for his kindness and love to my family,

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Shane
We believe that baptism is an essential saving ordinance that must be done in mortality by proper authority. We also believe that each individual has the right to choose what they believe and how. In our temples we, through the priesthood, perform proxy baptisms, so that the individual that has passed on continues to have the choice to accept the baptism that is done in their behalf. I believe that Paul was making reference to this same type of ritual that was performed in times of old in 1 Corinthians 15:29. Show more Show less
