Hi I'm Madison Pemberton

I've been dancing since I could walk. I live for the summer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my first semester of college, but before final exams I was preparing for another big event: serving a full-time mission. I come from an absolutely amazing family of six and my biggest fear of leaving is being homesick- this past little while I have been taking advantage as much time with loved ones as I can possibly get. That is one of my biggest hobbies: Being with people I love. I love seeing others smile and laugh. I love sunny days; swimming, boating, and just soaking up sun are some of my favorite things to do. I have been dancing since I was three years old and I absolutely love the exercise, energy, and passion that I feel when I dance. "When I grow up" I am thinking of doing something in the medical field or teaching kindergarten. Those two don't have much in common, but they would both allow me to help others. Lately I am learning more toward teaching, I can never get enough of cute little kids! My biggest goal in life is for others around me to feel loved- by me, by Heavenly Father, and by their Savior. It sounds cheesy, but if I have learned one thing from this crazy life of mine, it's that LOVE is most important.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it's true. Whether or not we believe it affects only our own salvation. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a true church, the only one with complete truth. I guess since I was born to an LDS family, some might think I am just an everyday Molly Mormon. That's not how it is- I stay in this Church because it has been an incredible blessing in my life. Different things have happened that simply remind me: this Church is true. God loves you. He has a plan. Jesus Christ is your Savior and, through him, you can return to Heaven. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints truly brings happiness and hope to this crazy life on earth and can supply that eternally if we just keep fighting for it! That's why I'm a Mormon-it brings me joy I know wouldn't be possible without it!

How I live my faith

I currently attend a Sign Language Branch of the LDS church. We have been attending there for about five years and it is incredible. I have learned so much, not only about the Gospel, but about people. People who are Deaf often have a different perspective and such an inviting spirit. My dad served a mission in American Sign Language (ASL) years ago, so it was exciting when we could join a branch right in our own hometown. I have been an interpreter at Church activities for about the past four years and I truly feel that God has helped me to learn ASL. I feel that everyone has different talents and gifts, and ASL has truly been a gift in my life. I am now preparing to serve a full-time ASL mission. It's incredible how small the world is and how often things come full circle. These types of things can remind me that God really does have a hand in our lives. I live my faith by taking one day at a time, talking with my Heavenly Father, and leaning on Jesus Christ, because I know they will always be there for me.
