Hi I'm Sam Banks II

I am a Filmer/Photographer that has played sports all my life. I serve in the Ventura California Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Idaho but was raised in Utah. My grandpa, Frank, was converted when he was 17 years old, while he lived up by Sand Point Idaho. He served a mission in the Netherlands and then went to school at BYU for business. If it wasn't for him being taught by missionaries my parents would not have been married, they would not have had me, they probably wouldn't have even met. I love how the gospel has blessed my life, even before I was born! Enough of "Pre-Me" talk, but just to tell you about me. I Have grown up playing sports such as; Basketball, Football, Soccer, Male Cheer Leading, Free Style Dancing (Namely Popping), and pretty much anything I can get my hands on(: I didn't do cheer intensely but it was way fun to tumble and throw people around in the air haha! I have worked on a ranch pretty much every summer since I was 11, so you might be able to call me a ranch boy but... I still don't think I can mount up to the amount of work and effort those 'l boys put in. I graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2012. (PG Swagger!!) I love my country, 4th of July is my favorite holiday, by far. I am the oldest of 6 kids and have the best family in the WORLD!!! I love my friends who have been supportive of me with anything and everything I have ever done. I'd take a bullet for all of them. I'm really open!! Just ask me anything and I'll tell you what I know(:

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Gospel has been restored through Joseph Smith and that he was called of God to be a Prophet, along with all of the prophets since then. I am a Mormon because we stand for everything that is right and true in the world. I am a Mormon because it's the true church and has the full gospel restored.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making sure that everyone I hang out with or am around what my standards are, that I'm Mormon, and that I am not moving away from any of those things. I have been so blessed with the church being in my life that I don't want people to NOT know!!! I Have had many church callings, I don't know how well I did in them but I have been; 1st assistant in deacons quorum (12-13 year old boys class), president of teachers quorum (14-15 year old boys class), 1st assistant to the bishop in priests quorum (16-18 class president of Seminary (Religious study class that is held during school in Utah and a few other states as an elective, but is an early morning or late at night class taught in other states), Young Single Adult WARD Athletic committee Chair, and now a Missionary for the LDS church. I am an Eagle Scout. Because the LDS church has been able to be apart of the Boy Scouts of America, I was able to have easy access, growing up, to this program and learn many skill and develope talents. It helps me out a lot with job applications and it's something I can proudly wear on my heart today(: It is amazing what one can do with an Eagle Scout Award. I just love being able to serve everyone and have these leadership opportunities.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Sam Banks II
If you think about it. since God has given us everything, 10% is very little to give back to him. We know that God himself doesn't need it, but his church uses it to help All of those who need help. Show more Show less
