Hi I'm Melanie Duffy

I live in Salt Lake City. I graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. I am passionate about words. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am about to graduate from college with a degree in English Literature. I love to read and I love to write. Hearing people tell their stories makes me really happy. I think everyone has a story to tell, and one day I want to write a part of my own story. I like to run (sometimes), and I enjoy being outside. I love, love, and I am a romantic at heart. I love sweets. If I could only eat cookies for the rest of my life, I think I would be okay. I love movies. Going to a movie theater and eating cookie dough bites, sounds like a great Friday night to me. My family and my friends are the most important things in my life. I love them dearly, and would do most anything to defend them. Music makes me very happy. Long car drives are always fun for me because I get to listen to a lot of music. Music makes me feel everything. I love Harry Potter. Most of the time I think that it is real.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the way it makes me feel. I will never forget the way I felt when I was baptized, and I will never forget the way I feel when go the the temple. I know that this church is true because I feel it everyday. Whenever I need peace and comfort, I know where I need to go to get it. I wouldn't have had that without being a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I am in a YSA (Young Single Adult) ward right now. I help to organize home evening activities on Monday nights for the people in my ward. It has helped me meet a lot of people that I wouldn't have otherwise. I am also currently enrolled in an institute class. It is a really great way for me to take a break from the stresses of a regular school day. A lot of the time, just walking into the institute building gives me a sense of peace. Mostly, I try and live my faith by being myself and setting a good example. I don't always do the best job of that, but I always try.
