Hi I'm Brianne Cannon

I'm a photographer, musician, poet, and technology enthusiast. I love learning new things. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a current student at BYU-Idaho, studying Integrated Studio Art with an emphasis in photography and design. I started my photography business in high school and it's been a wonderful experience ever since! I love any kind of art-- illustration, design, photography, music, dancing, and public speaking (to name a few). I like to play my ukulele and sing during my free time, as well as writing, HTML coding, and cooking. I love solving crossword puzzles and making people laugh everywhere I go. I love my job (working with computers and the application thereof in an educational setting) and I always like to keep the rest of my day busy with classes and other activities.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many wonderful things in this world, (some more so than others,) but nothing in my life can compare to the happiness and peace that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me. I love this church so much because I feel better about everything, I mean EVERYTHING, because of the perspective that it's brought me. I love keeping the commandments and following church guidelines because I have personally seen the benefits and blessings that come from simple, restrained obedience, and it is never a burden once I've recognized the true reasons behind why I do what I do. The teachings and practices of the gospel keep me humble, kind, and serving, and I highly value those qualities in my own life as well as in others'. I am a Mormon, born and raised, but I know that I have been personally 'converted' to this church. For many years I leaned on the testimonies of others and did things because I thought I was "supposed to". As I matured and became more educated, I began to wonder if I was really doing the right thing. Through various trials of faith and unique personal experiences, however, I came to realize very quickly thereafter that I knew the church was true, and I didn't need to lean on the word of others. It has helped me personally in so many ways that I cannot deny it. I know that this church is true. Because of the LDS church, I feel like I have a solid grip on what I want to achieve in this life and I feel more confident to pursue my goals and make a difference in the world. I know that I receive direction and guidance every day, even in the small and simple things, because of prayer; I know that I would be lost without that daily nudge in the right direction. I am dedicated to going to church, keeping the commandments, following rules, and working on my calling every day because I love it all. I feel nothing but a desire to lift others around me and become a better person because of it. I am a Mormon because it brings true happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I am so lucky to live on a college campus where the strong Mormon values are put into practice, both inside and outside of the classroom. I am the Relief Society President in my Young Single Adult ward, which means that I get to oversee the girls in my area, conduct Sunday meetings, and delegate other leadership positions and activities I am assigned. I wouldn't trade my church calling for anything because it brings joy to my life every day and makes me feel like I'm doing useful service as I strengthen myself as an individual.
