Hi I'm Kassidy Powell

I grew up in Utah. I have a wonderful Dad and Mom, and 4 awesome siblings. I have a passion for surgery. i'm a mormon!

About Me

I am preparing to serve a 18 month mission through the LDS church, for the Lord. I love to serve, and be with people, and I am so excited! I received my Mission Call to Texas, Fort Worth, in December 2013, and I report to the Missionary Training Center on April 2, 2014! I have completed a year of college, and as soon as I return from Texas, I intend to receive my Associates of Science, and continue to Medical School to study to become an Oral surgeon. I was adopted when I was born, and I hope to meet my birth parents someday. Living in a world where many people don't have the privilege to be in a secure family, I am so grateful that my Birth Parents made the hard decision to give me a better life. I enjoy Zumba, Yoga, Aerobics, Weighttraining and Swimming. I believe that keeping our bodies fit, keeps our minds sharp and our Spirits alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that doesn't mean I didn't have to decide for myself. I joined a Children's Choir when I was fifteen, and I began to notice a difference in my life. The choir was not an LDS choir, but it was organized to bring uplifting music to people all over the world. We were able to have a choir tour of the Church History tour in the east states. I didn't know a lot about how the gospel was restored, and I didn't really understand the importance of the Pioneers. Our choir was scheduled to tour the grounds of the Kirtland Temple. We were able to file inside to sit on the benches. The temple is now a history site, and doesn't have to same dedicated sacredness as other Temples as it used to, but it has an incredible spirit. We were able to hear about the angels that had stood in that room, and that the Savior himself stood in that room while he was counseling with Joseph Smith. When the Temple was first dedicated, the Pioneers sang 'The Spirit of God' for the first time inside the temple. We were able to sing that song while we were in the temple. I bear a strong testimony, that I felt, and heard the presence of the Saints who sacrificed so much for the gospel, singing right along with us. Right then and there, I knew this Gospel was the Church of Jesus Christ, brought back in it's fullness, so that we could have happiness in this life and in the life to come. I never wanted to part from that happiness, so I decided to start converting myself day by day.

How I live my faith

I have been attending singles wards and my home ward ever since i graduated from High School. I have been able to participate as a Teacher, and as an activity planner. I am now attending my Home ward, and I am preparing for my Mission next month.
