Hi I'm Elder Vince Campbell

I'm a writer, an award-winning poet and journalist, a musician, a full-time missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

From day to day, you may find me intently reading, or writing at the kitchen table. You may stumble into my living room, the flickering of scene changes upon the television screen, and you may be unable to distinguish between my voice and the voices of the characters. That was when I was home. Now, from day to day, you'll find me teaching the gospel in the Illinois Chicago West Mission. There's no greater work than teaching the gospel. After my mission, I wish to attend one of the BYU's.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ provides me with a clarity which is eternal. It promises a continuation of the happiness which may be felt upon this earth, a happiness which may be experienced for eternity if we may but exemplify but a shard of the faith Jesus Christ inspires. I am a Mormon because its gospel arouses a craving to serve others, to impart glad tidings continually, with all the previous practice required. Faith requires a persistent contest to usurp the comfort zone our lives raise us to cleave to. When we embrace the faith in Jesus Christ, we may be reborn, and may be raised to live comfortably outside of the world. I am a Mormon because faith in its gospel stirs me to seek justice, to inspire others, to serve the poor in spirit and those with varying manners of afflictions. I am a Mormon because I love my family, and I wish to live with them forever, and I know that I may because of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I believe upon the words of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because, now, I love myself. I am a Mormon because I have a brother (Jesus Christ) who lived and died for me so that I may have the opportunity to return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I believe.

How I live my faith

I teach people about the loving plan of happiness that God made for us all. I teach people that God loves them, is always there to talk to, and that through Christ they can change and be forgiven. When another must move their possessions into their new home, I strive to move furniture and boxes alongside them. I send a text message of love to a friend at least once a week. I strive to smile or wave at each person I encounter, for we all desire our presence to be recognized.
