Hi I'm Spencer

I've read the entire standard works, including the Bible, cover to cover. I love to scout and camp. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been going to college for a year. It's pretty crazy trying to keep up! I've learned to work hard and to enjoy what I'm doing at the same time. When I'm not doing school work, it's been nice to run or work out and spend time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was eight, I didn't have any doubts that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true. However, I read the Book of Mormon anyway to ask God to confirm that knowledge. I felt so peaceful, and I knew that Heavenly Father loved me and He had answered my prayer. I grew up knowing that I could turn to Heavenly Father whenever I had doubts or troubles. It's never been easy, but I feel so much more capable of dealing with my challenges because I've relied on the teachings from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

In my church, I contact church members about one-on-one interviews with one of our church leaders. During these interviews, we want members to know that we care about them individually, and we care about their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social well-being. I've felt God's love in my life, and I realize that God cares about all of His children as much. I try to treat others as God would want me to treat His children. I like to lighten up others day by just being as friendly as I can. Most important I care for my siblings and parents. I want them to be happy and successful. I do what I can to make that happen.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The book of Mormon is an abridgment of the historic record of ancient from about 600 ad to 400 bc. The record was kept by the prophets (a prophet is a man who speaks for God, like Moses or Abraham). It contains stories about real people who had real life problems. It demonstrates how the gospel can help us overcome these problems. The most important event of the Book of Mormon was when Christ personally appeared on the American continent. He healed the sick, ministered to the people, taught important principles, and gave hope and guidance to all mankind. Those who read the Book of Mormon sincerely looking for the truth will be answered by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost answers in a peaceful, comforting way. Show more Show less
