Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up on a potato farm in Idaho and am an undergraduate studying History Education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student of Utah State University studying History Education and English Education. I love the theater, reading, writing, traveling, movies, and all things Frank Sinatra. I have a large family and an army of nieces and nephews that I love to play with. I am of Scottish heritage and that plays a large role in my life. I am preparing to serve a mission in Dallas Texas starting in June.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel, but even though that may be the case I believe that everybody has a conversion story. There was a particularly hard time that I was living through during my early teenage years, and I desperately needed an answer. What answer I needed I didn't really know, but I needed something. One day I was reading in my scriptures after a particularly hard day, and something seemed to jump out at me from the pages. It said that Jesus Christ was the Savior of the world, a light that shined through the darkness and the darkness couldn't comprehend it. I felt such a sense of peace and love. In that moment I knew that no matter what darkness I found myself in, if I stayed close to the gospel and to Christ, then I could get through anything.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love the gospel, and it is a huge part of my life. I loved being active in my youth groups and their activities and now that I've transitioned into college life I love participating in my ward. The gospel has given me so much. I love having an assurance of why I am here and where I can go. I love the gospel and try to live it daily by both thoughts and actions.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jordan
Missionaries share the message of Jesus Christ and His Atonement for all of mankind. They teach of His love for each of us. They also teach about the plan of salvation, which allows people to be able to return to live with Him again. We believe that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us more than we could comprehend, and this is vital to our religion. Missionaries will teach about this and also about the importance of families. Families are the center of the religion, and the most important unit on earth. Families can be together forever.
