Hi I'm Annette

I'm an American wife and mom who hasn't lived in the USA for 18 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My sweet husband and I have lived an ocean away from our family members for the past eighteen years, enjoying beautiful places like Korea, Germany, England, and Japan. As much as I have loved our time abroad, my greatest delights are our phone calls to family and our online family chats. My family is my life! As I meet people around the world, it seems that one thing most of us have in common is a love for family. In fact, I have come to feel like a part of a global family. I enjoy quilting, baking for neighbors, and assembling family photo books. I love long walks and gospel study. I adore making new friends. My dream is to live somewhere near my grandchildren! My grandmothers each had a special kitchen drawer where they "hid" homemade treats for grandkids -- I'm determined that someday I'll have a special kitchen drawer, too!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon. I learned even as a young child that when I made choices in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I felt peaceful. Experimenting with other options always brought me unhappiness sooner or later. It really was and is as simple as that. And the more life of life that I experience, the more tried and true that gospel path becomes. I have no doubt whatsoever that I have a Father in Heaven who is knows and loves me perfectly. When He's happy with my choices, I can feel His happiness! His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, is my Elder Brother and loves me more than I can imagine. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, my family relationships can last forever! I know from experience that following our Savior Jesus Christ and His prophets is the only way to safety and peace in a confused and confusing world.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I'd like most to be like Jesus Christ is by becoming someone who lives entirely for others. As I try to find ways to serve my family from afar, as I offer service in our women's organization at church, as I enjoy practicing English conversation with my dear Japanese friends, I have seen how a life focused outside of myself is what makes me truly happy -- the kind of happy that lasts. I often wish I could bundle up the gospel of Jesus Christ and deliver it to my friends and neighbors -- His gospel provides such clarity and prevents so much suffering!
