Hi I'm Don

I grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I am an optometrist. I serve part-time in the US Air Force. I am a Mormon

About Me

I love to cook "low and slow". I love BYU football and have season tickets. I served an LDS mission in Seville, Spain. I've completed humanitarian medical missions for the Air National Guard in Morocco and HI. I enjoy traveling with my family and just goofing off with them. I love to work and accomplish things. I like learning and teaching what I've just learned. I am interested in current events and politics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and raised by actively participating parents. My mother was a convert to the church at eighteen. I became fully converted when I was 19 and decided to serve a mission. I remain converted each time I study the Book of Mormon and feel the Holy Spirit assure me of its truth. I remain converted each time I hear and study the words of our latter-day prophet, again by that same Spirit. I have personally experienced the Lord's mercy and forgiveness and felt to sing the song of His redeeming love. I have an unshakable testimony of the power of prayer and personal revelation. I love the feeling of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, when I am keep the baptismal covenant to remember Christ and obey him. I love experiencing the miracles wrought as a result of my faith. I am certain that my Heavenly Father loves me and He will always illuminate His plan for me. I confidently move forward in faith. I am awed by the authority and power of His priesthood and the fact he trusts me with it. I can't imagine a life without these blessings. How joyless, dark, and uncertain it would be.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a bishop and a home teacher. Being a bishop is a very rewarding experience. I consider it a privilege to be able to serve along side Christ in ministering to the needs of His flock. Although this is His church and He can accomplish His work without me, He has allowed me to be with Him, touching lives in an extremely meaningful way.
