Hi I'm Lora Jewett

I grew up in Olympia, Washington. My family owned and operated an Oyster Farm on Steamboat Island Road.

About Me

I am a mother of 5. Cleaning, cooking, working and being outdoors hiking and playing with my kids are my favorite things to do. I substitute for our local school district. I enjoy my work since it allows me to be home when my children are home. It also keeps me alert as to what is going on in their lives and the lives of their peers. I love working with the youth!

Why I am a Mormon

I know this is His church. I have been blessed with a testimony of that fact my entire life. Many who have gone before me have worked very hard to gain ground and build upon what they knew to be true. I add upon what they have blessed me with. The scriptures and living prophets are a witness to me that God lives that Jesus is his Son and I can live to be worthy of that blessing.

How I live my faith

The community in which we live is a university town. Much of what we do evolves around education, the arts and our church activity. My husband and I both work with the youth in our church. We have community service projects that include feeding the homeless and needy, providing man power to carry out a Community Christmas Basket project, and helping to beautify the local cemeteries. Our area provides much of the produce that our country consumes so we have the opportunities to work in orchards, fields and farms to raise funds for our camping and scouting activities. I enjoy where I live and serve.
