Hi I'm Annie

I'm a native Oregonian and proud of it. I'm a mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am a wife and mother, knowing the best gift I can give my children and step children is a strong relationship and marriage with their father. I love my family and would do anything for them. I love dancing. I love the technique and detail of the steps and positions and the strength it gives your body. I play the piano and violin and am happy to use those talents to teach others how to play. I am a military wife and know that staying close to Christ and Heavenly Father is what gets me through when my husband is gone. He truly is my best friend and our children adore him. I love being a helpmate and teaching my kids everything I can about loving each other and loving Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the teachings are true. I have personally prayed to know it is true. Family is so important to me and the knowledge that families can be together forever brings me comfort and peace. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God just as much as the bible is and cherish both books. I love feeling the spirit and the inspiration that comes from reading the scriptures. I know prayer works and doing these things together on a daily basis increases the feeling of the spirit in our home. I know my savior and Heavenly Father love me and want the best for me which makes me want to put my life in their hands, following the commandments and living the life I know they want me to live.

How I live my faith

A few moms from church and I do a preschool for our kids twice a week. The kids have so much fun and are learning how to behave in school as well as learning their alphabet, writing their names, numbers and seasons. They love being able to go on field trips, our most recent being to the local fire station to learn about the firefighter's jobs. I visit a couple sisters from church every month to make sure they have everything they need or if they need help with anything around the house or just a good support system.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

In "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" it states that "Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children." Men and women are different and both bring different qualities and attributes to the family that are necessary to provide and care for everyone in the family. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Women in the church have responsibilities to help and take care of each other, providing care and support for other women in the church. Men and women are equal in the sight of God. We both have sacred responsibilities in taking care of and rearing our families. We have different talents and attributes which help us provide for our families in a way that allow us to work together. In doing so we stand together in unity and strength. Show more Show less
