Hi I'm Shaylee Argyle

I'm from Kaysville,UT. I am serving a mission in the Phoenix AZ mission speaking Spanish and loving it! I'm a Mormon

About Me

Here are some things about me. I grew up playing soccer and learning piano. I love to be outside in warm weather and ran cross country and track in high school. I recently started learning guitar and have already written a few of my own songs. I teach piano also. I love kids and hope to be a teacher one day. I love playing outside with the neighborhood kids, I am really good friends with all the little kids in my neighborhood and do lots of fun things with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I have asked myself that many times. I grew up in a wonderful family that taught me the things of the church. I did find out for myself though that this church is true not just because my parents and family believed but because I received my own answer. One day at our young women girls camp I went up this hill away from everybody and sat on a rock in a bunch of trees. I looked up and there was a light shining between the leaves and it was beautiful. I continued to look up as I said a prayer out loud. I asked if this really was the true church and if all this stuff I was taught was really true and right. I asked if being a Mormon was the right thing. I didn't immediately receive an answer, but I just felt nice and peaceful. I sat there in silence for a little while and then walked down the hill. As I was walking down I got this amazing feeling I said a silent prayer of thanks and the rest of the day was amazing. Since then I have had little experiences to remind me of the feeling I got on that day. I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true. I have felt it and seen it bless other peoples life's. In my day to day challenges I have peace and reassurance to look to and something to help me through the difficult times. I could never go through this life alone, I have the gospel to help me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Before my mission, in my ward I was a primary teacher for the 8-9 year olds. They are a ton of fun to teach and I'm amazed at how much they already know. I think I learn more from them than they learn from me. Teaching the young kids is so much fun because I learn things in a new way I never thought about before, it's amazing how smart their young brains are. I love sharing the gospel everyday and learning new things with the people I teach.
