Hi I'm Laura Simmerman

I'm a dancer, a runner, a sister and a daughter. I love challenges and I am excited about life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I'm Laura :) I'm the oldest of 9, I have moved 18 times, lived in three states, and I was home schooled from first grade to senior in high school. Not the most common story, I know. I have a passion for learning because I was able to choose what I wanted to study. I'm attending my second semester at college and I am loving it! So many new adventures just waiting around the corner. I am pretty much crazy about anything outdoors: rock climbing, repelling, hiking, playing Frisbee, running cross country, having water balloon fights with friends and jumping into crystal clear ponds at sunrise. I love hanging and partying (Mormon style of course;) with friends. I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I live my faith because I love it. The gospel is there to make us happy and if you obey the commandments, follow the prophet, and do the small and simple things there is no way you could not be happy. In times of trial the gospel of Jesus Christ is always there and when I turn to Him He is able to lighten my burden. I know the Savior lives. I know that through Him I am can be made perfect. I know that through the constant study of the scriptures and daily prayer I can be strengthened and learn of His will for me. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the only true and living prophet today. I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and the he did restore the only true church on the earth. I know that life isn't always a walk in the park but with the help of the Savior it can be made easier. I know that through a temple marriage families can be sealed for time and all eternity. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. Without my testimony of the gospel and of the Savior I would not leave my family for 18 months, go to a foreign country, and only talk of Christ.

How I live my faith

I dress modestly, read my scriptures daily, and am preparing to serve a mission in Antofagasta Chile. I am naturally happy and am always looking for ways to brighten other peoples day whether through a smile, note, or an act of service. Everywhere I go I try to set a Christlike example so that others may see Him though me.
