Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a mother, wife, sister, daughter, teacher, student, aunt, niece, friend and of course, a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for almost 13 years to my husband. We have three daughters ages 10, 7 and 3. I'm a full time student at Arizona State University and currently completing my final semester of student teaching to be a math teacher. I am a voracious reader, a mediocre seamstress, a terrible housekeeper, and a loyal friend. I have a weakness for silly romance novels, Diet Coke and Candy Crush. On my days off, I take naps. And if I have time, I take naps.

Why I am a Mormon

Just a few years ago, something life-changing happened to my family. It shook my world and my faith to the very core. The rug was pulled out from under us, it felt like we had lost everything in that one moment. In this hour of devastation as I sat there looking at my husband, as we contemplated how we were going to move on, I heard the voice of God. And He told me to have faith. To have faith in my husband and to have faith in Him and that everything would work out in the end. No other time in my life have I felt such peace and confirmation that I'm in the right place and doing what I need to be doing and that if I trust in Him, it will work out in the end. It's not the end yet, but I have faith that I will make it eventually.

How I live my faith

Within our ward, I have a calling that I have never done before and this is to serve as a missionary in the area with my husband. This has been a challenge for me because I have always had a hard time talking about the things I believe. This is helping me come out of my shell and have the confidence to talk about my faith. One of my favorite parts of having a ward family are that no matter where we go (and we've been from coast to coast during our marriage), I always have friends.
