Hi I'm Josh

I'm a musician, director, and photographer. I love snow. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Valley of the Sun, and sunny it sure was. Too sunny, too hot. I long for cold, snow, mountains, and... snowboarding. I got my bachelors degree in Political Science from Arizona State University, and plan to use it in some sort of way that I don't know yet. I enjoy cooking very much and would like to someday open a restaurant. If I'm not in the kitchen, I am listening to or writing music, watching movies, or chasing the sunlight for photography. I also enjoy tennis, running, and, of course, snowboarding! Give me a guitar, some fresh powder, and a camera, and I am set!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for three key reasons. Though there are many, many more, these three were important to me when I was investigating: family, community, and personal accountability. I always knew that families were meant for something more than this world had to offer, something that lasted longer than our earthly bodies. Now that I understand that families can be together for eternity, it helps me strive to be the best person I can for my own future wife and children. Community also played a big role. There had to be more to church service than just attending and leaving immediately after, without making meaningful connections with our neighbors. Want a strong sense of that community and true friendship? Visit any chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and you will. Visitors Welcome. And finally, personal accountability. For something as crucial as eternal life and salvation, surely God is interested in my personal relationship with Him and His Son, and not only with specially educated and exclusive members of the faith. I must continually work and put effort into understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ because nobody can do it for me, and I am incredibly grateful for our agency and opportunity to grow personally. My testimony is my most precious possession, and it grows each and every day, and, if you let it, I know it will grow for you too.

How I live my faith

My wish is that every person that I meet knows, without a doubt, that I truly care for them. I live my faith through my interactions, through my words, and through my example, and am able to do so only because of the great example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him, I would be nothing. Without my knowledge of Him, I could do nothing. Because of Him, I am able to love others and see them for what they can become, and it motivates me to be a more helpful and useful member of my community in anyway that I can offer. So it is His interactions, words, and example that allow me to live my life.
