Hi I'm Afton

I live in Texas, and am attending school to be a dental hygienist.

About Me

I am currently attending school to be a dental hygienist. My hobbies include reading, writing, tennis, playing piano and video games, drawing, hanging with friends, watching movies, and many other things! I have a big family that loves to spend time with each other. I am the fourth out of five children, and the oldest girl.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and family are Mormon so I grew up going to church, believing that what I knew was normal. Once I realized it wasn't, I became interested in finding out what I believed as opposed to what my parents believed. So I listened more closely to the lessons on Sunday and prayed to know if what I was learning was the truth. I've sense concluded that it is, and continue to grow and learn about the gospel every year. I have a strong testimony that Jesus died for our sins, and that this church is the lords church, and he loves each and every one of us. I know that I can live with him again, and in order to do that, I must live the best life I can hear on earth.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday for 3 or more hours depending if there are any activities or meetings before or after church. I also go to extra activities on Monday, Wednesday, and the occasional Friday and/or Saturday activities. I am in charge of a group of people, which makes sure that everyone is informed on the responsibilities we have as a group. I try to live a clean life. This includes dressing and speaking modestly.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is similar to the Bible in two big ways. The first, is that it is a collection of books written by different prophets. The second, is that it is a witness that Jesus Christ lived on the earth. The big difference is that the prophets who wrote the books were in America. The Bible was written by prophets in the Jerusalem area. Of course it wasn't called America back then. But all the same, it is a documentation of the people that lived in America before the English settlers arrived. Show more Show less
