Hi I'm Natalia

I've lived in Provo all my life. I love Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and the 4th of 6 kids. I am studying to be an elementary school teacher. I love watching movies, eating donuts, and people watching. I love longboarding, though I am terrible at it. I have family in Mexico so I have visited there several times and love the people, the language, and especially the food. I also have family in California, so I visit there often and absolutely love the beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. I love my family so much and love spending time with them, especially doing all these things I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but remember questioning if it really was THE church of God. After learning that I could find out for myself, through reading the Book of Mormon, and praying, I decided to do that. I prayed and felt peace about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and the restoration of Christ's church through Him. The gospel and going to church have blessed my life in so many ways. Here we have the knowledge that God has a plan for us and loves us immensely. Because of that knowledge, I was able to understand more the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us. Through a lot of prayer, I have felt the power of the Atonement (Christ's sacrifice) and know that Christ knows exactly how I feel in hard times and suffered for me so that He can comfort me. I know everyone can feel this relief and comfort through Prayer and the power of the Holy Ghost. I also know this comfort can come through reading the Book of Mormon, because it is God's work and truly testifies of Christ. I know this church is God's church, that He restored because He loves us. I know He also has a prophet at the head of this church, who leads us and speaks for God. I know all of this because I have prayed about every part of this and have felt strongly in my heart that everything I have just said is true. I know God wants us to help all of His children come to this knowledge and that's why I love talking to anyone who wants to learn more.

How I live my faith

I go to church with my family and taught the 5 and 6 year olds there for about 3 years. Though I have not done a very good job at doing visiting teaching, I love visiting ladies in our ward and trying to help them strengthen their relationship with God and their understanding and use of the scriptures. I served a mission in Mexico City and loved being a missionary. There I learned a lot about The Book of Mormon and now try to study it every day, because it has helped me so much in my life.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

I have had people ask me before how it would be fair that God would only let "mormons" get into heaven. I like to answer this question by explaining baptisms for the dead. We know, through the Bible and the Book of Mormon, that baptism is a commandment and essential to enter into God's kingdom (or heaven). Baptisms for the dead allows those who have passed on and never had the opportunity to accept baptism into God's church, accept it and make this covenant with God. Show more Show less
