Hi I'm Hyrum

I'm a movie lover. I like puns. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Hyrum. I am the last of three children and I am also the tallest that automatically gives me the responsibility of reaching the top cupboards for everyone. I am currently 21 years old.I was born in the Philippines is now in Daly City, California. I love stuff. I am a connoisseur of stuff. I like finding the beauty that resides in all of God's creations. I try to capture it all in film. (I like filming) Whether it be city life, or nature; the left side, or the right side of the brain, I will always be amazed. As for sports, I play basketball, football, ping pong, badminton and billiards. Then for the arts, I like to sing, play guitar, dance, do musicals, make movies, and draw (although I'm not necessarily good at it).

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was born, I have been a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I remember being 4 years old and being the loudest voice when it came to singing the intermission hymns. This was all due to the fact that I was lucky enough to be conceived by two return Missionaries whom instilled the Gospel of Jesus Christ into my soul right when I came out. I guess they didn't realize that their 4 year old son would do 30 minute prayers right before sleeping! Growing up, I was always that guy that you never had to worry about whether he will attend an activity or not. I was that guy that you knew that will always be there. However, this did not mean that I've always had my mind in the church. For a period of time, my attendance became just a habit, not really thinking about what I was doing and it's importance. But there came a time where I was really longing for another assurance of what I was doing was indeed the right thing. Then step by step, through time it came to me that what I was doing was true. I am a Mormon because of the beauty in His gospel. It as simple as that. Try to find it yourself. I can describe you all the beauty I see in it, but you have to try it out yourself.

How I live my faith

I think the best way for me to describe how I live my faith is how I act. I always try to keep in mind who and what I'm representing. I know that as a child of God, I am representing Him. This means that I try to watch all of my thoughts, words and deeds. Faith leads to actions. Living my faith and exercising it allows me to feel the holy spirit more often in my life and I want to testify the wondrous feeling that it has in my life. I know that this feeling is true happiness. One way I exercise it is through serving everyone in the best way I can. Basically I really like serving people.
