Hi I'm Dylan Tavis Muirhead

I'm Dylan Muirhead. I'm 21 years old and am on my mission in the Canada Toronto Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five siblings. I'm a very social guy with a big heart, I love adventuring and trying new things. I love to spend time with my friends and family. My passion is in music and I play guitar, sing, and write my own songs. I enjoy basketball, archery, being active and also enjoy the opportunity to be a couch potato at times. I love helping those around me. I have traveled to Peru with my dad to perform humanitarian service for orphans there. I'm a high school graduate, worked in multiple part time jobs. I have experienced both trials and accomplishments which have deepened my love of God. I have lived in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Vancouver Island, BC. I come from a very closely bonded family, and left home to serve a 2 year mission for the church in Toronto, Canada. It's hard to leave my amazing family for two years as I go to serve the Lord, but I know it's right. I am thrilled to meet new people, share the gospel of Jesus Christ and strengthen and mature myself for the next levels in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and have seen miracles given to me personally and my family throughout my life. I am a Mormon because through my experience it has shown me that it is the one way to return to the Lord. I am able to be in a family that is enveloped in love, and we share with each other the teachings of the gospel. As I learn from the examples of my family, other members, the guidance of the First Presidency and the promptings of the spirit, I can then grow to become spiritually enlightened, become confident and just feel whole. The teachings of the LDS church is truth, and I have put it to the test with a sincere heart and willingness to act on that witness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by first belonging to the church of our saviour and bare his name with myself as his follower, friend, and brother. I love my saviour and the sacrifices he has done for me and he has helped me time and time again as I've struggled, but I have been able to learn of his example and find the boost I needed to reach my true potential in this life and for the one after. "Learn of me and ye shall have peace unto your souls.."(Matthew 11:28-29). I try my best to follow, "not the rules" but the guidelines of the gospel which actually are there to help keep me safe and enlarge my faith. Through living these principles I am then able to discover the answers to the questions of my soul, such as "Where did I come from? What is my purpose? and What should I do to achieve that purpose?". I strive to be a good example to my younger siblings, my extended family and my peers, who all see my actions and are a great support for the choices I make with the Lord's companionship. I have lived my life with the love of Jesus' true church, I feel so blessed. I am now able to go and repay him in my service of a 2 year full time mission. To serve him and his children, in bringing them to his always open, warm and loving arms. I am a Mormon and I love it!

What is faith?

Dylan Tavis Muirhead
Faith, my favorite thing to talk about. What is the Difference between a belief and faith, answer: a belief is having an idea of something unseen that you think is true. Faith is the act and living of that belief which is tested daily. Faith takes time to develop and strengthened. In Alma 32 the prophet explains how faith grows and how to know when it is truth or not. Through experimenting with the gospel and applying it then seeing the Holy ghost testify to you in your life that it is true you can learn all things of light! Show more Show less
