Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm a college student. I'm a writer. I'm a goofball. I'm a sister. I'm a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Freshman in college currently studying Biotechnology. Science has always been something that I have loved to learn about. I love the outdoors; hiking, camping, running, you name it. I am big into sports. Soccer is my favorite! I also love volleyball, basketball, and softball. Music is one of my greatest passions. I have been playing the piano for about 11 years and I love it! Even though I'm not the best, I love to sing and create music! I also enjoy writing. I write my own poems based off of some of my favorite scriptures. I am the middle of 3 girls (sounds rough huh?) I love both of my sisters so much! They are my absolute best friends! I also have a bit of a nerdy side. I love to play chess in my free time and challenge my friends to a relaxing game of Disney Scene it :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church. My parents were always very active, and it was always expected that we attend Church each week. However, when I was a teenager my parents made it clear that they didn't want me to rely only on their testimonies; they encouraged me to work to receive a testimony of my own. So work I did! I faithfully worked on my Personal Progress each week. The Virtue value was added right after I received my medallion, so I quickly began working on it. The project for virtue was to read the entire Book of Mormon and pray about it. I had never even thought about reading the Book of Mormon before, but I decided it was worth a shot. Each time I read, I felt something amazing. I learned so much and I always felt so happy after I read. Once I finished reading, I took the challenge and prayed, asking if the Book of Mormon truly was the word of God. That was the first time in my life that I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of the spirit. The Holy Ghost witnessed to me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It truly is another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ. My testimony of the Book of Mormon helped other aspects of my testimony to grow as well. It increased my faith, my understanding, and my desire. I became much more interested in the teachings of the gospel, and more receptive to the spirit. I know this church is true, with all of my heart. I love this gospel, I honestly can't picture my life without it. It brings me so much joy in my life! I have no doubt that this is the only true church on the face of the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Compassionate Service Committee in my ward. I assist with activities that are put on for members of the ward. I am also in charge of looking for girls in the ward who seem to be going through a hard time, or don't seem to be as comfortable in the ward. It is my job to reach out to all of the girls in the ward, and become a genuine friend to all of them that I can! I am also a visiting teacher. I love going around to visit with different girls from my ward. It's nice to talk to them each month and catch up on life.
