Hi I'm Dustin Blackmon

I love sports and my family, and I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am eighteen years old and I am currently serving a mission. I am serving in Rosario, Argentina for two years. I am the only member of the church in my family, and I enjoy the blessings of this gospel. I love reading my scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I am very grateful to be serving this mission and to have the opportunity to bless the lives of many.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I was atheist and did not have any beliefs in God. Once I heard the message of Joseph Smith and the restoration, I knew that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that He wants us to be happy. I know that Jesus Christ suffered the Atonement so that we could become whole and have the opportunity to live a life with devotion for and knowledge of the truthfulness of the Savior. I am currently serving this full time mission because The Lord has blessed me to have given me this gospel and it has brought much happiness into my life, and I want to go forth and give families in Argentina the same happiness and peace that this gospel has given me. I know I do not know everything, nor am I close to perfection, but I do know that as we come closer to Heavenly Father He will guide us and He will deliver us out of our toughest trials. I love Him and I love my Savior, who is Jesus Christ, and He helped me in the toughest moments of my life. After joining the church I lost nearly all of my friends and I had struggled with some family as they did not agree with all the changes I had made when joining the church. It was hard seeing so many people leave my life, but I promise that it was worth it to have the gospel in my life and to feel the love of Jesus Christ continually. I love this gospel with all of my heart and I know that it is true, that the Book of Mormon does testify of Jesus Christ and His Divine work. I invite all who read this to read the Book of Mormon, to pray with sincere intent, and I promise you that you will know that it is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to bring forth the gospel back to the earth in our time. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by ultimately following the example of Jesus Christ. I am not perfect, but Christ was, so I look to him when I have my trials and my difficult moments in life. I read my scriptures, share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with others, and I do all that I can to bring myself closer the Savior and my Heavenly Father.

In whom should we have faith?

Dustin Blackmon
We should develop and continue to develop faith in Jesus Christ. When we do this, We are more willing to obey Him, to trust in Him and Heavenly Father, and accept the Atonement and the love He has for us. Without Faith in Jesus Christ, we cannot follow principles of the Gospel, and with faith in the Savior nothing is impossible. Show more Show less
