Hi I'm David

I grew up in Richland, Washington. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I worked in finance and other business management support functions for various engineering and manufacturing industries. I was raised in a loving family with 4 sisters and 1 brother. I couldn't ask for better parents. My father passed on to the next life in 2013 at the age of 95. My mother at 91 years old is still quite active in church, aerobics, driving, etc. She is quite remarkable. I am a father of 5 children, 4 of which are still living. One of my sweet daughters died of Trisomy 13 when she was 5 weeks old. I was born to my parents who were already members of the LDS Church. I have always been active in the Church. I know that the things I was taught since I was a child, by my parents and others, are true. I know that truth independent upon any other individual upon this earth. My testimony comes from our Heavenly Father, who is anxious to reveal to His children, all the truths they can contain and seek for, by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have never doubted my faith and testimony. I have always loved astronomy and nature, as I view the heavenly skies and walk among the creations of God around me. I have always felt such peace in the quietness of those walks, knowing that there is a God who is the great Designer, designing in such detail the awesome creations around us.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been involved in the Church, first because my parents raised me up in it, but, secondly, because I learned by personal revelation, from the Source of all truth, that it is true. It has been revealed to my heart and spirit many times, that this church is lead by our Savior, Jesus Christ, through His prophets in these latter days. God has always had prophets from the beginning of time, and since He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He will always reveal His will to His prophets. He loves the people today as well as yesterday. There is much to learn about this life, why we are here, where we came from before birth, and what happens to us after this life. The revealed truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught from the beginning, answers those questions. This church, led by Him, is the only church that fully answers those questions, for which I am truly thankful. All who prayerfully seek for those answers will come to to church. God answers our prayers, and He brings to this church all those who sincerely ask and seek for truth. I know that the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ is true. It a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ, of His mission, atonement, and resurrection. After His resurrection in Jerusalem and appearance to many people there, He descended out of heaven and appeared to the ancient inhabitants of the American continent. He showed those people the wounds in His hands and feet, taught them His gospel, healed many, and blessed all the children. There is no more holy and precious writing in all the world. The recording of that event and others was done by prophets of God sent to those people. These words, written in the reformed Egyptian language, were translated by a latter day prophet of God, even Joseph Smith. The sweet witness of the Spirit has manifested that truth to me many, many times, for which I am so grateful.

How I live my faith

From boyhood, I always knew that I would serve a full time mission for the Church I belonged to. I even knew that I would be called to Australia. I did serve for 2 years in Australia when I reached the age of 19. Though there is no paid ministry in the church, I count that time as the most fulfilling, valuable period of my life. Since then, I have enjoyed my callings teaching gospel doctrine to adults as well as the youth. I've served in various leadership positions, including bishop of a ward or congregation. I have always enjoyed working with others and receiving strength from them as well as assisting them in any of their needs. The Savior taught service to others in all that He did and in all that He preached, and asked us to follow Him.
