Hi I'm Christian Martinez

I'm an early high school graduate. Track and Cross Country runner. I play the violin, guitar and drums and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the great city of Chicago, IL. Born and raised there my entire life. I graduated early from high school and currently attending Brigham Young University Idaho. I love running! I ran Track and Cross Country in high school receiving varsity letters in both sports. I play both the Violin and Guitar at an expert level and currently trying to teach myself how to play the piano. I love going out and socializing with friends. All of my friends have said that I always bring the fun into the group. I love being outside and just enjoying the view rather than being inside. My parents divorced when I was 14 years old. Life was pretty hard for me throughout my high school years. Soon my mother married a wonderful man who became my step-father. I have 5 other siblings and though we quibble most of the time I would do anything for them. My biological father loves me and my siblings very much and has raised us in what he believes to be correct principles. I will forever be indebted to him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it to be true. Many people that I know are lost or confused. I have had friends from all different religions. I know Atheists, Cathloics, Christians and Agnostics. After hearing much of their beliefs I can truly say that this Gospel is the only true chruch on theis Earth! I have felt and experienced first hand our Heavenly Father's love for each of us. I know that by putting our trust in him we can be helped at every moment. Trials happen to make us a better person. This Gospel has opened up many new windows in my life and by living it everyday I have grown to be a better person.

How I live my faith

I was a sunday school instructor; my duties included teaching and study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have also been called to serve as missonary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico Reynosa Mission in Reynosa, Tamulipas Mexico. I have the privilege of being able to teach the word of God to others that may not understand it. As a missonary I have dedicated two years of my young adult life to travel to a different part of the world to teach and preach. Though I might be young I know that by putting my faith in God and in Christ I can and will be able to change peoples lives. I also enjoy doing service. Whenever I see an opportunity to go and help someone I do; not just that, but I also drag along a couple of friends with me so that they can experience what I feel after helping someone.

What is being a Mormon like?

Christian Martinez
In my experience I've noticed that we have a lot more hope compared with other religions. For example, as I walk down the streets of Mexico I see many preachers who share a message of pergatory. About who we must repent or we will be condemed after this life. While it is true, we don't shout at people and tell them to repent and that they will be condemed. We share a message of love; that one day we return to live with our father in heaven and experience greater happiness after this life. So, What is being a Mormon like? I would say it is filled with joy. Knowing that by living the commandments of God we can feel enteral joy is an amazing feeling! Show more Show less
