Hi I'm Kelsie

I'm a college student, I love Spanish, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth of six children and love life! I enjoy playing games, learning, watching and playing sports, playing the piano and trombone, making movies, and spending time with my family. I served a mission in Texas for the Church and loved every minute of it. The Gospel of Jesus Christ defines who I am and the way I live my life. I am a current college student and excited to study the Spanish language.

Why I am a Mormon

When it comes down to it, I'm a Mormon for one very simple reason: I know that God lives and has a perfect plan for me, and if I do what He asks I can see Him again and even be like Him someday. I know that this knowledge and the power of God was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I've been a member of the Church my whole life, but that doesn't mean that my conversion to and testimony of it came naturally, because conversion isn't an event- it's a process. Everyday I try to become more converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I know, without a doubt, that it is true. I know that God loves us and has given us commandments to protect us. Life is not easy by any means, but the trials in our lives help us grow and become more like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ understands and loves us perfectly. He died for us and lives again for us so that we can live again and be clean from our sins. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me great peace and happiness; I would be lost without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the little things; I study the scriptures, pray, and serve others daily. I attend my church meetings and try to remember Jesus Christ and be like Him because He is the ultimate example of how to love and serve others.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Kelsie
Baptism is an essential step to become worthy to return to live with God. Jesus Christ Himself was baptized, which shows us just how important and crucial it is for us individually. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that to be truly baptized we must first have faith and repent. Baptism is done by immersion (meaning our bodies go completely under the water), must be performed by someone holding the proper authority, and is followed by us receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. As we are baptized we promise to follow Jesus Christ by being His representatives, following the commandments, and remembering Him everyday of our lives. Baptism is a step in a lifetime of following the Savior. Show more Show less
