Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Texan, born and raised, I love to play baseball, I'm a BYU student and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four kids. I am serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Oregon Eugene Mission. After I serve my two year mission, I will return to college and hopefully find the right major! Baseball is one of my favorite pastimes. I am a member of the Boy Scouts of America and received my Eagle Scout award while in the Boy Scouts. My family is important to me because they will always have my back and I know that I can rely on them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, that does not mean that I didn't have to find out for myself that Joseph Smith was called by God to be a latter-day prophet and that this Church is true. Through prayer and scripture study, I came to know that this Church is true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has influenced my life for the better and I know I would not be the same person if I wasn't a Mormon. That is why I am serving a mission to share my testimony of the truthfulness of the LDS church.

How I live my faith

Although some people may think religion is something that you do on Sundays, for me it is a way of life. Being in schools where I am part of a small group of other LDS kids makes me stick out and people are always watching to see if I live up to my faith. Although it is hard at times to not be part of the crowd, it is worth living my faith than being part of the crowd. One of the biggest ways I live my faith is just that; following the commandments and living a Christ-centered life and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with my friends and neighbors.
