Hi I'm Kori

I am a wife and mother. I love to craft, decorate, organize, and try new things. I love to cook and bake. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My husband is currently in college working towards his degree. While he is busy with that, I am busy at home taking care of our beautiful son. Everyday I get to watch him grow and discover, and everyday I get to exercise patience and increase my love for him. Being a mother is challenging but very rewarding. When I have time I love to create - craft, decorate, cook, and bake. I went to school and worked on Culinary Arts. I have a passion for food. I also love to travel. My mother is from France and growing up I had many chances to visit family in France. It was wonderful for me to see and experience another culture. I also love family history. I have ancestors from all over Europe and am trying to find their names and bring our families together again.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings of this gospel are true and have helped get me through some tough times. I have Crohn's Disease and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a liver disease. When I was first diagnosed in 2008 I was upset and wondering why this was happening to me. After much prayer and reading of the scriptures I came to know that my Heavenly Father loves me very much. I was given this trial in life to help me grow. It is painful, but I have seen myself become stronger as the trials with my health have increased. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, knows me, and wants me to be happy. He will not leave me comfortless. I can turn to him wherever I am, whenever I can, and with whatever I want and know that He will hear me and listen to my prayers. I may not get the answer I want, but I ALWAYS get the answer that is best for me. This gospel, and the truths it teaches, has helped me have the strength to face each new day and each new challenge head on. I can do anything because the Lord is there to strengthen me and lift me up when I am feeling down. I am so very grateful I am a member of this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

Being new to this area, I am finding ways to participate in the community. I go to playgroups with my son at other churches and am working on making friendships there. I am also working on my CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training so I can prepare not only myself and my family for a disaster, but for the people around me as well. At church I teach the children ages 5-7. I am teaching them about Jesus Christ, how to make good decisions everyday, and to trust in God and know that He is there and loves them. It is a tough age to teach but it is wonderful to see them learn and grow.

What is the Relief Society?

Kori
Relief Society is a wonderful woman's organization to be a part of. We meet each Sunday as part of our Sunday worship, but we also do things together throughout the week and month. We uplift each other, speak kindly to each other, love each other, serve each other, and support each other. I have made friends with young and old, married, single, widowed, divorced, single mother, and more. I always feel welcome and important when I am with the other women of the Relief Society.
