Hi I'm David

I grew up in Utah. I am the 5th child of 9 in my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and to write. I am not the greatest at either one but I do my best. I am going to school, I am trying to be an Physical Education or English teacher. I did go on a mission to Wisconsin. I love listening to music that inspires me to be a better person. So I listen to anything that helps me feel inspired.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Lord's Church all my life and I was taught from my childhood that it is the true church Of Jesus Christ. I have always felt that it was true. I always went to church and enjoyed the programs for the youth. But I never felt committed to the church in a deep way growing up. I learned the stories and I went to seminary but I never let what I heard sink into my life. I got done with school thinking I was just going to work manual labor jobs and be like my father. I was going about doing this when I was about to turn 19, then the love of my mom and brother-in-law came to my rescue. My brother-in-law talked to me one day and he asked me a serious of questions that no one before ever really asked me. He asked if I knew the Book of Mormon was true, if Joseph Smith was the prophet, if the Church of Jesus Christ was the true Church. The last question he asked me was are you willing to pray to find out if these are true and ask the Lord if serving a mission is what you need to do. I was hesitant on this question because I knew what the answer was going to be and I thought was I willing to commit the rest of my life to what this choice was going to be. My brother-in-law asked if we could pray together right then and there to find if these answers for me. I said I wanted to do it on my own. We were in the mountains at the time and we stopped and I prayed and I knew during my prayer that I knew all of these things are true and I needed to go on a mission because the Lord needed me to go on a mission and I did. I got back about 11 years ago and my mission has changed my whole life. Before I never thought I would go to school, I never thought I could do anything but work and never do anything but work at manual labor jobs. There is nothing wrong with manual labor jobs, but they are to easy for me and that is why I needed to do something else to push me beyond what is easy. My mission helped me know that I can go to school and that I can be successful.

How I live my faith

I am a Ward Missionary in my ward, and the committee chair to proclaiming the gospel. So my callings are encouraging me to open my mouth and talk to people about the Hope of the Gospel that is in me.
