Hi I'm Justin

I am a teacher. I am a husband. I am a father. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work at a university teaching education courses. I enjoy working with pre-service and in-service teachers trying to help them think about the assumptions of education and how education can be improved. My wife and I recently moved into our first home. We are working on the painting and the small repairs. It has been fun making the house ours. We are expecting our first son soon. I love to read many types of books. I also love to play games with my family. My wife and I really enjoy taking rides and walks. I play the organ, piano, and violin. Recently I have picked up making homemade pasta and bread.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parent who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormons). I attended meetings with them. I participated in my family's scripture reading. I would also spend time with my family discussing truths from the scriptures. I also read and prayed on my own. I desired to become a member of the church and was baptized into the church when I was eight years old. It has been a great blessing in my life. I have worked on being faithful through my teenage and young-adult years. Now that I am married and a soon-to-be father, I feel it is even more important to teach and talk about the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my family. I want to help my family to know what joy I have found in following the Savior's example and teachings. I have found that the teachings of the Church help me to find peace. I especially love taking time to read from the Book of Mormon. I read from it daily, as I feel that it brings me closer to Jesus Christ. I especially love the knowledge of having a living prophet on the Earth today. It is wonderful to have a voice who can direct us during our day, helping us to find the way back to our Heavenly Father. I think the most important part of my conversion is that I have personally prayed about the truths taught in the church and have come to feel through the power of the Holy Ghost that they are true.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by volunteering in our local congregations. I have in the past worked with teaching from the scriptures, like the Bible. I have have also helped our men's organization. I currently help other understand their family history. I have really learned to love working helping others understand how to find out about their histories and their ancestors. I also live my faith by visiting several families from our local congregation regularly. I believe that I also live my faith by doing small things that help me to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I read from the scriptures everyday; I take time to pray to my Heavenly Father. I feel that it is important to serve others and help them as I can. I also take time to attend my weekly meetings and find time to ponder things of an eternal nature. I try to share Jesus Christ's message to others.
