Hi I'm Mark Rust

Hi my name's Mark Rust and I served a full-time missionary in Fresno, California. I love to run, read, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio which is a small suburb east of Cleveland, Ohio. I ran Cross Country and Track during High School and I love to snowboard and ski. I have three brothers (I'm the second oldest). I like to read and my favorite books are the Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and Ender Wiggin series. I love languages, and Spanish is one of my favorite subjects, as I have been studying it for 7 years. I was the only Mormon in my high school and I love being individualistic, and I am always standing up for Christianity and my Church. I also own a lawn mowing business in Chagrin Falls. With the money that I saved from my lawn mowing, I was able to got to Europe with my Dad, which was amazing. Also, I have a brother on a mission for the Church in Houston, TX. I have had an internship at University Hospitals, because I am interested in the medical field, and have sat in at Physician Assistant classes at Lake Erie College. Also, during the summer I like to swim and play basketball with my friends. I was very active in my church's basketball team, and we had a great time. I always enjoy a nice bonfire and time with my friends and family. My favorite foods are Domino's Pizza and my Mom's lasagna.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've got a testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost. Also, I've had plenty of experiences that have taught me what I'm believing is true. In addition I have many great examples of good Christians by watching my parents, many other Mormons, and many other good Christian friends. In addition, I've read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and know that it's the truest book that I've ever read, and that it has just as much sacredness as the Bible does. I have a testimony of this gospel and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am an Eagle Scout. I think Scouting is a great way to live my faith because a lot of the standards in Scouting are the same that are in the Church. Also, I stand up for my Church and try to always exemplify the standards that my parents have taught me. Also, all my friends know I'm a Mormon and since I'm the only Mormon at my high school, I try to be a good example.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Mark Rust
The atonement of Jesus Christ is the single most important fact about our Church. The atonement is the ability to be forgiven for sins or to be comforted from trials and the sins of others. Jesus Christ was able to give us the atonement when he bled in the Garden of Gethsemane and took all of the world's sins and pains and trials. Show more Show less
