Hi I'm Curtis

I'm a trombonist. I have a wife and kid. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am pursuing a master's degree in trombone performance. I keep busy playing concerts with orchestra, brass quintet, and other groups. I've been married for a couple years, and we just had our first baby boy. I like going to concerts- especially orchestra concerts, and I like hanging out with my wife and son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the church when I was 8 years old. My parents taught me to have faith and live the gospel. I strive to live up to the covenants I made at baptism each day.

How I live my faith

I keep very busy with my concerts and studies at school, so I try to set Sundays apart as a day to spend with God and family. I don't practice trombone or do homework. I go to church in the morning and spend the day with my family. I try to serve in the church the best I can. I make visits to other church members each month to share a message and offer service. I am also the ward choir director. Throughout the week, I try to be a good example to my colleagues at school.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Curtis
The Word of Wisdom is a law of health that God revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith. Part of this law forbids the consumption of tobacco, alcohol, tea, and coffee. Our bodies are a gift from God, and we should respect and take care of them. When we avoid these substances, the spirit is better able to dwell within us. Show more Show less
