Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a border collie lovin, adventure taken husband of an amazing woman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love a good adventure! I'm always up for anything to do with the outdoors but I especially love to ski in the winters and rock climb and hike in the summer time. I have a BS is social work where in my senior year I spent my time helping people with disabilities enjoy outdoor recreation. I love to read (the nerdy stuff, like sci-fi and fantasy) and at times I find myself writing down my thoughts in the form of a poem. I have a beautiful wife and a daughter and together we are creating the grandest adventure of all. Eternal Life.

Why I am a Mormon

Some would say that children who grow up in the church remain in the church simply because they grew up in it. While that answer may in part be true, alone it is incomplete. I am forever grateful for the example my parents set forth in attending church and striving to live a Christ centered life. But my involvement and activity in the church is not founded upon the teachings and examples of my parents nearly as much as it is upon my own experiences. I have felt the amazing love of my Heavenly Father from day to day. I have experienced for myself the cleansing and healing power that comes from the sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ. I have had personal witnesses from the Holy Ghost that I am the son of a God who cares, and because he cares he has called prophets and revealed scripture that are meant to help us return and live with that same God who loves us and that gave his Son. I choose to be a member because I know that if I am faithful, God has covenanted that death will have no hold on my marriage with my beautiful and amazing wife and that is reason enough to remain faithful in His church.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith one day at time. The savior said "sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof" meaning that there is enough junk to deal with today without worrying about tomorrow's junk. If that's the case than there must also be sufficient faith unto the each day as well. A lot of my time is spent with the youth in the church. We focus on physical, emotional and spiritual development. We study the words of Christ and living prophets. We offer service to those in need and reach out to other youth who need support. We take time to enjoy Gods great creation of this beautiful planet as we camp, hike, swim, and cook really good food.
