Hi I'm Sharline Hill Turner

I am a return missionary, college graduate, wife, and mother and I am a Mormon

About Me

I consider myself lucky because I was able to grow up with the blessing of having the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I had wonderful parents and good friends who influenced me for good. I also had wonderful Young Women leaders who helped shape and refine me. Life wasn't always easy or did it go the way I wanted it to. After serving a mission in Japan and returning to finish my education in Nutrition and Food Sciences I found the love of my life and we married. Soon after marriage we found out that we were not going to be able to have children. This was a devastating blow to the both of us. We had lots of questions that could not be answered but tried to continue on with life. Thankfully we were blessed a few years later to be able to adopt a beautiful baby boy. Then a couple of years later we adopted another boy. We feel blessed to have been able to have children bless our live even though we were unable to bring them into our lives ourselves. We also appreciate their birth mother for her selfless sacrifice and love that she had for these two boys to let them grow up in a home with a mom and a dad.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and only church of Jesus Christ. I know that my savior has stood beside me and maybe even carried me during times when I am lonely and afraid. I have felt great peace and joy from blessings I have received through the gospel. I feel very blessed!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the Book of Mormon daily, praying, and serving in my ward and stake. I am currently serving in a position where I work with the young women in our ward. I love it! It is often challenging, but the curriculum and resources that are there for these youth is simply amazing. I know our Heavenly Father is reaching out to these youth and letting them know it is okay for them to be different. It is okay for them to stand out and not have to do the things that the world would lure them into doing. Last years theme of "Stand ye in Holy Places and be not moved" and this years theme of "Come unto me..." are truly inspiring. I hope these youth grasp onto and live with the values that they learn while in there youth. Obedience is the key to happiness. I know that when I am obedient I am so much happier than when I am not.
