Hi I'm Heather

I am a wife, a mother and a fitness instructor. I have a degree in Social Work. I love being a Mormon!

About Me

My husband and I were married in the Orlando Florida temple in 2005 and we have two daughters. Prior to meeting my husband I was a social worker working as a counselor in a close security prison. When I met my husband I had just changed jobs and was working as a social worker in a nursing home. We got married and I happily moved to his location in sunny Florida. I began working at a local hospital as a discharge planner. Although I loved helping people and I enjoyed some aspects of my work, I had not quite found the job of my dreams. After getting pregnant with my first child I was able to leave work and care for my daughter full-time. I had my second child and was able to stay home and care for her as well. As the girls started preschool and elementary I was blessed with an opportunity to go back to work part-time. It is here that I found the job of my dreams as a group fitness instructor. I love to teach, to love to be able to help people, and I really enjoy exercise and being fit.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16 years old my mother's sister joined the church and she sent the missionaries over to our house. We listened to the message the missionaries had for us very carefully. The missionaries taught me how to pray and taught me that I was a child of God and that Heavenly Father had a purpose for me. For the first time I learned to recognize the promptings and feelings of the Holy Ghost. My mother, my sister and I were all baptized at the Peter Whitmer Farm, in Fayette, NY in 1987. That was the best decision I have ever made. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that Jesus died for us and that He will return again. I want to be ready for His return.

How I live my faith

In my church congregation I am currently in a leadership position serving the children. Each Sunday I help to organize and coordinate things for the teachers and for all the children they serve. Once or twice a month I also get to teach the children a Gospel centered lesson. I really enjoy these teaching opportunities and the sweet Spirit which I feel as I share this great gospel message with them.
