Hi I'm Maddy Burgoyne

I grew up in Pennsylvania and am attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. I'm also a Mormon!

About Me

Right now I am serving a mission on Temple Square but other than that I love smiling, playing various instruments, playing soccer, and studying Spanish. Additionally, I am an International Studies major at BYU-Idaho and want to travel the world teaching English!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has been a huge part of my life ever since I was born into this world. My parents are both members of the church so I was blessed to be taught it in my home as well and eventually came to find out for myself that it was true. I have come to find out that Jesus Christ died for me and because of that, I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again! In addition to that great blessing, I can also be able to be forgiven of all of my mistakes, and trust me I make lots of them, which brings a sense of peace and comfort in my life. I love the church because it has been restored on the earth again and because there is so much truth that we can find out for ourselves. I owe Christ my life and am striving to be like Him in all that I do. Last but not least, I love my family and this church teaches about the importance of families and their role in God's plan for us. They have been my main support group and I don't know what I would do without them or where I would be in my life if I didn't have them. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with all my heart and would do anything for it! The church is true! So I invite you, see for yourself!

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission which is crazy because I was born there, left when I was 3 years old, and now am back some years later! I am so excited to share my feelings and knowledge about my religion with the people of the world! Before deciding to serve a mission, I led the music in a church class called "Relief Society" (which is for all women and based upon building each other up and strengthening each other in their time of need) in my student ward at school. I also love serving my fellow classmates and stopping by to see if they need anything or just want to talk! I find that when I ask people questions about how they are doing with a sincere desire to know what they are going through, they open up and express their feelings, concerns, etc. Now, just to be clear, I don't do this because I want to know their problems, but because I want to help them and lift them up when they are down. I strive everyday to go out of my way to serve people, just like my Savior Jesus Christ did. He loved and taught us to love everyone, so I have really taken that to heart and have been striving to follow His Perfect Example.
