Hi I'm Alan

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and have been a Mormon my whole life.

About Me

I'm busy trying to figure out what happens when I turn 70, and I have to figure rather quickly because I'm 69. I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in English. Some of my favorite things to do are hang out with my grandchildren, fly fish and do the Lord's work wherever I am called. I speak French because I served a mission in northern France and Belgium. I love the language and the people. I enjoy teaching the gospel and find great joy in seeing understanding in the eyes of students when they grasp a concept. I especially love the Spirit in teaching; it is so uplifting.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because this gospel is the source of truth, happiness and the way to improve myself. It gives me a closer connection to my Father in heaven and the Savior. It allows me to be taught and have those deep feelings that can only come from God.

How I live my faith

I try to serve others, especially those in need. I have had many positions in the Church and all of them have helped me grow and they have taught me different ways to serve. I hope to continue to serve and help where I can

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Alan
The Bible is one of the most fascinating studies one can undertake. I love the Bible; it does come from God and tells of the Savior, prophets and apostles and their testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
