Hi I'm Dan Steffler

I grew up in a small farming community and have been in agricultural related work all my life. I am retired.

About Me

I am a dad, six children, three girls and three boys and 20 grandchildren. I like hot rods and 4-wheel drives and the great outdoors and wide open spaces. I enjoy doing service with and within my church. Some of the things I have been involved with is cooking Easter breakfast for about 300 people; also a fall community festival. I cook breakfast on my homemade griddle and enjoy cooking for large groups with my Traeger smoker grill. In the past I have enjoyed working in our church-owned orchard where apples, peaches, apricots and pears are grown. Some of this fruit is for people who are facing hard times and for disaster relief.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the LDS Church when I was 10 years old, after listening to several sets of missionaries with my parents. At 19 years old, I served a church mission in South Africa. In those two years, I came to love the country and the people. On my journey home, I had the opportunity to tour the Holy Land. In Jerusalem, standing at the Garden Tomb where the Savior was entombed, seeing that tomb empty strengthened my testimony and conviction of the resurrection. Also I received a witness of the Holy Ghost that the Savior loves each of us. As we are obedient to the laws and ordinances of His gospel, He will bless us.

How I live my faith

I have worked in leadership for men's groups and taught Sunday School for teenagers. Most of my life I have been a hometeacher, visiting with families and seeing to their welfare.
