Hi I'm Emily

I'm a girl. I love my Heavenly Father. I love my Savior. I also love the ocean, leather jackets, plants and my family.

About Me

I never know what to say here. I was born in Nampa, Idaho to the greatest parents I could ever ask for. Immeditely after I was born my parents moved us to downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, where we lived for the next 8 years. During that time I was blessed with three rambunctious, yet wonderful siblings who I consider to be my very best friends. After my youngest brother was born, my family moved back to the great state of Idaho and we've lived there ever since, however Utah has always held a special place in all our hearts. I graduated high school in 2008 and went back and forth with college & work. As much as I respect & support people who go to college & get degrees, it never felt right for me. I attended Boise State for a semester & then the College of Western Idaho for two more semesters, but I found that I liked working & making money more than school. I never felt like I had any direction with school & felt myself growing in my job. Eventually I decided that I wanted to work either in humanitarians or in phlebotomy. And fortunately they can go hand in hand. My dream job would be to travel around the world and help those who are less fortunate than myself. I love music. My favorite genres are folk, classical, indie rock, and various tunes from the 60's & 70's. My hobbies include: gardening, quilting, sewing, baking, reading, various arts & craft projects & playing with cats. So basically, I'm an 80 year old lady living in a 23 year old body. I love the life I lead.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father & his son, Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul. Everything I have, and have ever had, in my life is because of them. When I live the gospel and follow the commandments given to us I feel a love & a happiness that I can't begin to explain. I want to be apart of Christ's church and do everything I can to help build the kingdom. I strive to be like Jesus Christ, and I know that by being a member of His church I can help bring others to feel His love and experience the overwhelming happiness, peace and comfort that I feel everyday. I believe in families & I love that when families are sealed in the temple that they are forever. I cannot imagine living a lifetime without my family & because of the gospel I know I'll never have to. I love the peace of the Holy Ghost. I love the feeling of being forgiven of my sins because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and cheers me on everyday and is waiting for me to return to Him. I love the temple. I love the scriptures, and all the truth they bring. I love having a modern day prophet, who will never ever lead us away from Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ when there are so many influences in the world who try to. And most of all, I love my Savior. I know, without a doubt, that He lived a perfect life. He taught the world the gospel and was the perfect example of all things beautiful and good. I know He suffered & died for every single person who has and will ever live, so that we all can repent and be forgiven of our sins and be made clean again. I know He loves us all, more than we can ever comprehend. No matter what our circumstances are. And I know that He wants nothing more than to see us return to live in our heavenly home again, with Him, our Heavenly Father and our eternal family. If He didn't love us, He wouldn't have paid the price. I know that being a member of His church is what He would want us all to be. And that's why I'm a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being involved in the gospel. When I actively fulfill my church callings I become closer to those around me, and as a result I become closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Service is a huge & important aspect of the gospel and we set a good example of being like Jesus Christ when we serve our fellow brothers & sisters (members & non-members alike.) As it says in Mosiah 2:17 "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Living a life like Christ did to the best of my ability is very important to me. It effects my small, everyday decisions, as well as my life changing decisions. It influences how I treat other people and myself. It influences me to make the right choices when people are watching me, and when they aren't.
