Hi I'm Sherry Curtis

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I have been directing children's theater for over thirty years. I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been married to my husband for 43 years. We are the parents of four children and thirteen grandchildren. I have been teaching children's theater for about thirty years. I continue to direct about 10 shows a year. I feel it is a life-changing experience for children as it gives them confidence to be in front of people and feel self-assured and self-confident. I really enjoy people and being a good friend is really important to me. I enjoy making home-made cards and sending them to people with a personal note.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel. I love the emphasis on the family. It has been a wonderful way to raise my children. I believe that this is the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus atoned for our sins and that we live on this earth with the ability to make choices to bring us back to him. I have loved the way the church has helped me to set standards and a code of ethics to let me live in this world with hope for a better life in the eternities. I have many kind and wonderful friends. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who was saved to bring forth the true church in the latter days.

How I live my faith

I grew up in a Christian home and learned many good values. I am a convert to the LDS church. By this time, I have been a member for more years than when I was not. I have had many opportunities to serve. I use my skills as a children's singing teacher by taking these children to entertain at assisted living facilities. Nothing brings a smile to someone's face than to hear the voices of little children. Because of my career teaching children's theater and music, I have had many opportunities to teach music to the children in our church. I have directed many musicals in and out of the church. It is fun to use members of our church and members of our community working together to create a musical or play. I have been the teacher of the youth, ages 12 to 18, and I have really enjoyed them. I have worked as camp director for our young women for years. That has been a lot of fun and a growing experience both for them and for me. I try very hard to set an example of good wherever I am and whoever I am associated with. I am a fun person and live having lots of friends. I never compromise my standards in social situations. It is easy to live my faith. It makes me happy when I do.
