Hi I'm Estela Gomez

I enjoy listening to music and I LOVE chocolate!

About Me

I was born in Huehuetenango, a small town in Guatemala. My family came to the United States when I was about 5 years old and I have lived in Winston Salem ever since.I have two younger brothers who are very energetic and I love them so much.I love to spend time with my friends and family and I love meeting new people. My favorite time of the year is summer because I can go swimming and eat popsicles all day long! I also absolutely love the snow, although we don't get very much of it here in the south. I loveeeeee to eat, Hispanic food, Chinese food, american food, anything! I also enjoy listening to music, especially when I'm doing the house chores.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true and I know that if I follow the teachings and principles of the gospel I will be able to live a happy life here on earth and I will be able to return with my heavenly father and receive the blessings that have been promised to us. In these latter days, we experience many difficulties and trials that often test our faith. I know that by allowing the savior into our lives we will be able to overcome the challenges we may face. Through experience, I have also learned that many of the difficulties we experience can be avoided by simply following the commandments and remaining obedient. Christ is our savior and I know that he is the only person who knows my struggles and what I go through and only by following him will I get where I am suppose to. He has walked the same path as me, he knows the way! It also warms my heart knowing that families can be forever, not just in this life. Knowing that I have the opportunity to live with my family for all eternity motivates me to remain firm in the church. I am a Mormon because I know that only in this church, will I be able to obtain true happiness and a closer relationship with my heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the small but simple things that the lord wants me to do, such as reading my scriptures, praying daily, and going to church every Sunday. Even though it may sound simple, at times it may be not be as easy. Throughout the day, there are many distractions that prevent us from doing what we are suppose to do.I know that if I set out my priorities with the lord being my main priority, everything else will fall into place and I will see the difference in how my day goes. There is always time to kneel down and pray to our father in heaven. I know that he is there listening to me, and he will give me guidance. I also live my faith by being a good example to those around me, If those around me see how happy I am from living the gospel they will want that happiness too! Reaching out to others and sharing the gospel with those who are ready is also a great way of how I strengthen my faith and how I share that happiness with others. I am very grateful to having the gospel in my life and by choosing to do what is right, I am living my faith!
